单词cue源自拉丁语quando(表示when)，这个词常被缩略为Q，q或qu，作为演员脚本中的一种标识，提醒另一演员应该何时接言或上场。后来，含有此义的字母Q逐渐被拼成cue，发音跟Q一样。
